IMOGENE IVY LEATHERS

Henderson, TN: Imogene Ivy Leathers age 91 passed away February 2, 2015 at her home.

She was born February 28, 1923 in the Finger area and raised in the Hickory Corner Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Irvin and Nola Patterson Ivy. She went to school at Hickory Corner. She married Wendell Lee Smith. They made their home in Oakland, CA, where she worked with A.C. Transit Bus Company as an information operator. Mr. Smith passed away in 1988. She lived in NV and was visiting with her sister in TN and meet Joe Leathers and they married in 1990 and moved to Henderson in 2001. Mr. Leathers passed away in 2009. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson. She liked to garden and crochet.

Mrs. Leathers is survived by a daughter, Deborah Mercer and husband Mike of Henderson; three grandchildren, Jacob, Shelby and Katelyn and one great grandchild, Harper.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elzada Malinak in 2002 and Mayrene Ivy.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Brad Patterson officiating and burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5 PM until 8 PM on Thursday.
