Inez Johnson Bell

December 17, 1930 — July 13, 2014

Mrs. Inez Johnson Bell of Middleton, Tennessee departed this life Sunday evening, July 13, 2014 at her daughter's home in Henderson at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 26 days.

Mrs. Bell was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi Wednesday, December 17, 1930 to the late Clayton Albert and Pearl Pannell Johnson. She lived in Mississippi for 18 years and graduated with the class of 1948 from Holly Springs High School. On July 30, 1949, she was united in marriage to Mr. Walter Newton Bell, and the two lived in Shelby County before moving to Hardeman County in 1995. Mr. Bell passed away October 6, 2006.

She worked as a homemaker and was an avid quilter. She also enjoyed working with ceramics. She was a member of the Trinity Independent Baptist Church in Middleton where she taught Sunday School classes. She spent 83 years nurturing her family, who states she was "the hub around which our family turned."

Survivors include three daughters, Vicki Leigh DuPree and husband Larry Carroll of Germantown, Rebecca Lynn Jones and husband Billy Edward of Henderson, and Carol Diane Adams and husband Donald Leon of Greeneville; two sons, Walter Newton Bell, Jr. and wife Virginia Parker of LaVergne, and John David Bell and wife Karen Wells of Middleton; two sisters, Pearl Elizabeth Williams and husband Riley Craig of Dallas, and Sandra Kay Brown and husband Mike of DeLand, Florida; a brother, Richard Lee Johnson and wife Emily Jordan of Collierville; twelve grandchildren, Kimberly Alston, Kelly Levander, Manisha Lazure, Shaun Jones, Kristi Antilla, Karen Legg, Nicholas Adams, Austin Bell, Ryan Bell, Cody Bell, Carson Bell and Trevor Bell; and sixteen great-grandchildren, Emma Alston, Gracie Alston, Gabriella Alston, Alanna Alston, Quintus Alston, Cypress Alston, Harper Levander, Arvo Levander, Aaron Patterson, Brayden Lazure, Catherine Lazure, Eva Legg, Lizzie Legg, Khylei Legg, Emily Antilla and Lauren Antilla.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Albert Johnson, Jr.
