Inez Bass Childers age, 93, departed from this life at her home in Middleton, Sunday, January 10, 2021.
Born September 9, 1927 to Thomas Neely and Maggie Hawkins Bass, she was a lifelong resident of Hardeman County. She married the late Roy Lee Childers on February 2, 1959. In 1967, she tragically lost her oldest son, Gene Edward Brock at age 16 and her husband Roy within 3 months of each other. Mrs. Childers was a hard worker, working in soybeans and cattle, as a farmer. A devoted Christian, she loved to read her Bible and visit with family and friends. She was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter Renee Darling of Middleton; two sons, Glenn Childers and wife Tish of Middleton, and Shane Childers of Ramer; four grandchildren, Tonya L. Yeigh and husband Tim, Michael G. Julius and wife Anita, Andy Childers and Shanna Ray Childers; four great-grandchildren, Leah E. Duncan and husband Scott, Jessy H. Daniels and husband Dane, Jamie M. Julius and Jacob Julius; and three great, great-grandchildren, Jason M. Daniels, Alliyah Jade and Lane Duncan. In addition to her parents, husband and son, Mrs. Childers was preceded in death by a sister Onetta Bass, and two brothers, William and Ercel Bass.
