Inez Lokey

INEZ LOKEY

was born in Denham Springs, Louisiana on February 13, 1930 the daughter of the late Ray and Ruby Inez Chambers Minton.

On September 19, 1949 she was united in marriage to J. Z. Lokey, who preceded his wife in death on February 3, 1973.

Inez was a retired sewing machine operator for Brown Shoe Company. She loved singing, gardening, swimming and doing carpentry work. Inez's greatest joy was spending time with her family and helping others in need.

She departed this life on Thursday, January 21, 2021 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 8 days.

Inez is survived by her daughters, Diane Tilley, Patty Tilley, and Becky Austin and her husband Danny, all of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Belinda Talley, Dina Davis, Linda Tilley, Glenda Short, Melissa Young, Jason Tilley, Danette Franks, Jackie Smith, and Angela Smith; 21 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and brothers, Freddy Minton and his wife Lynn, and Leroy Minton and his wife Doris.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Minton Forman, two brothers, Donald Minton and James Everett Minton, and three grandchildren, James Bob Tilley, Vera Lee Tilley, and Danny Thomas Austin.
