Iona Hatch

Iona Hatch passed from this life, Monday, September 20, 2021 at her home in Bolivar, TN, at the age of 92 years and 5 days.

Born Sunday, September 15, 1929 to Smith and Mary Elizabeth Freeles Hazelwood, she live most of her life in Hardeman County, in the Whiteville area. She was married to Albert Norman Hatch who passed on August 21, 2017 and worked for many years in dietary at Western Mental Health Institute. She loved to read and quilt and had a beautiful garden when she was able. Mrs. Hatch was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

Survivors include her three daughters, Mary Lou Wilson of Jackson, Virginia Phillips Hyslip of Conway, AR, and Dianne Phillips of Medon; a brother Frank Hazelwood of Bolivar; eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Earl Phillips; a sister Virgia Prince; and three brothers, James, William, and Earl Hazelwood.
