Iva Pearl Bizzell, 89, of Middleton, departed this life Monday, September 16 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The wife of Odis Bizzell, who survives, she was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who relished taking good care of her family. She was born Friday, June 20, 1930, in East Prairie, MO, daughter of the late Stephen Claude Horton and Joyce Stepp Horton and lived in Camden for 17 years and in Detroit, MI for 18 months, moving back here with her husband around 1955. She married Odis on May 7, 1948 and lived happily together for 71 years. She worked at Dover Elevator for 28 years, becoming one of the first women to be employed at the factory, and was a member of Middleton Church of Christ. She enjoyed growing flowers, doing needlework and crochet and was known as a great friend to others.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Rita Ross (Gene) of Middleton; a son, Robert Bizzell (Mary) of Middleton; a sister, Neil Lamberth of Selmer; four grandchildren, Brandon Ross (Jennifer) of Middleton, Kristina Ryder (Jason) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Robert Lucas Bizzell of Bethel Springs and Victoria Bizzell of Selmer; and five great grandchildren, Cody Ross, Westen Ross, Cooper Ryder, Skye Ryder and Talon Bizzell.
