J. W. BOYD (PERK) MORRIS
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on December 6, 1927 the son of the late Walter and Effie Morris.
On August 19, 1953 he was united in marriage to Arvella Benson, who preceded her husband in death on February 28, 1987.
Perk, as he was known by everyone, served his country in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952. He worked as a night watchman for El Rancho Furniture Manufacturing. Boyd was self employed in the sawmill industry and also worked for others. In his spare time he enjoyed riding his 4 wheeler and golf cart and loved building birdhouses.
Boyd departed this life on October 29, 2018 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 23 days.
He is survived by his children, James Boyd Morris and his wife Judy of Savannah, Tennessee, Teresa Rogers and her husband Steve of Savannah, Tennessee, Jonas Morris and his wife Jane of Savannah, Tennessee, Kenneth Morris and his wife Tammy of Elsberry, Missouri, Lesa Roach and her husband Melvin of Savannah, Tennessee and Dewayne Morris and his wife Tracy of Savannah, Tennessee; 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Morris Smith of Savannah, Tennessee and Willidean Morris King of Lexington, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny, Earl, Ancil, Floyd, Roy and Coy Morris; sister, Oakley Wesson; two infant sisters; grandchildren, Jonathan Morris and Jessica Morris; and great grandchildren, Abigail Foster, Quinn Foster and Zayin Morris.
