James C. Dacus, 72, of Bolivar, departed this life Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born Monday, May 30, 1949, in Hardeman County, son of the late Louis Edward Dacus and Rosie Ellen Spencer Dacus and lived most of his life in Hardeman County. He was a timber cutter and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served in the US Army during Vietnam and was a member of New Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Dacus of Missoula, MT and Samantha Franklin of Conway, AR; a son, James Calhoun Dacus, Jr. of Missoula, MT; a sister, Mable Hopper of Bolivar; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org/donate).
