Mr. James "Dee" Spencer Biggers, age 79, of Middleton, passed from this life on Monday, May 25, 2020 at Bolivar General Hospital.
He was born on Tuesday, November 5, 1940 in Webb, MS, the son of the late DeLois and Helen Marie Rose Biggers. He worked for several trucking lines in Memphis before enlisting in the Air National Guard. Mr. Biggers served his country for 35 years in the U. S. Air Force as a Aircraft Mechanic. Upon his retirement from the military, he began preaching including at Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a member. A faithful Christian for most of his life, he was saved as a child in Webb, MS. He placed a high priority on time spent with his family and his church family.
Mr. Biggers married Sylvia J. Diel on Saturday, September 3, 1988 and, in 1989, they moved to Hardeman County from Memphis. He had also traveled extensively during his time in the Air Force.
An avid sports fan, "Dee" enjoyed watching college and professional football especially the Ole Miss Rebels and New Orleans Saints. He also loved Chicago White Sox baseball and NASCAR. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Sr. or any other driver associated with Chevrolet Motor Company.
In addition to his wife of 31 years, he leaves two daughters, Shannon Rose Steele of Memphis and Juanita Marie Voyles of Las Vegas, NV; three sons, William Dee Biggers of Jackson, TN, Robert L. Schillinger and Jimmy A. Moore, Jr., both of Memphis; one sister, Christine Biggers Barton of Germantown, TN; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
