Mr. James Hugh Ragon, age 93 of Jackson, formerly of Bolivar, passed away on the evening of November 4th, surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife, Natalie; his five children, Bill, Jim, Betty, Joe and Bob; fourteen grandchildren; and more than twenty great-grandchildren, with another on the way!
We will remember a friend, a mentor and a colleague for his sharp wit, imagination and insight, urging us to think creatively. We'll remember the dinner table, the drafting table, the coffee shop, the motorcycle, the slide rule--the tools of an engineer, a craftsman and a pilot; tools he used to invest himself in us, to share with us.
We will remember a husband, a proud father and grandfather, each in our own way, his spirit reminding us what it means to live a life well. We will remember a WWII soldier who absorbed what he saw in Central Europe, returned and built a life for his family that was worth fighting for. Today we grieve his passing, but is presence in our lives will always be a source of love, strength and hope.
