Mr. James Robert Hanna, age 81, of Hornsby, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 15, 2022, at Pine Meadows Healthcare in Bolivar. He was the widower of Marilyn Kaye Hanna who departed this life on January 1, 2022.
A life-long resident of Hornsby, Mr. Hanna was retired safety manager at Troxel in Moscow, TN where he worked for 47 years. Prior to working there, he was employed by Harmon Automotive (known then as "Jervis"). He was a former deacon and active member of the Hornsby Baptist Church. He also had opportunity to preach there from time to time. In his leisure time, he served the community with his abilities as an amateur electronics repairman.
Mr. Hanna married the former Marilyn Kaye Knight on September 12, 1964. They were married 57 years at the time of her death. He also served his country in the US Army.
Survivors include two daughters, Robbin Hipskind (Garrick) of Lacey's Spring, AL and Heather Harris (Matt) of Silerton; one sister, Ruby Sisk (Danny) of Jackson; two grandchildren, Payne and Patience McCumber; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hanna was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Ora Mae Russom Hanna; six sisters, Mayrene Goodspeed, Irene Sparks, Gilene Ellcessor, Louise McCullar, Odean Crouse and Betty Kratz; three brothers, Bobby Joe, Barney, and Hugh Thomas Hanna; and an infant twin brother and sister.
