Jane Elizabeth McAnulty Black Cremer, 97, of Toone, passed from this life Monday, December 6, 2021, at Bolivar General Hospital.
She was born in Hickory Valley, TN to the late James Ashe and Lilla Jane Jones McAnulty and lived most all of her life in Hardeman County.
After graduation from high school, she married Mr. George Monroe Black on November 27, 1942. They had been married 37 years at the time of his death on January 15, 1980. She was a clerical worker for the State of Tennessee for 27 years, both at Western Mental Health Institute and Nat T. Winston Developmental Center.
She was a long-time member of Bolivar Cumberland Presbyterian Church and loved to travel in her leisure time. She enjoyed caring for all types of animals, but especially her two pets, "Zoey" and "Rachel"
She leaves two daughters, Beverly Duke of Lawrenceburg, TN and Rebecca Cannon of Checotah, OK; one son, Bob Black of Toone; seven grandchildren, Beth Duke Lerner of Lawrenceburg, Robert Ashley Duke (Daniyelle) of Boca Grande, FL, Julie Brotherton Williams (Billy) of Muskogee, OK, Jennifer Brotherton Jones (Billy) of Bixby, OK, Carrie Black Benard (Joey) of Silerton, Kyle Edward Duke (Lynn) of Lawrenceburg and Kim Duke Martin (Eddie) of Nashville; fourteen great-grandchildren, Andrew and Taylor Jones, Courtney, Carley and Cadie Graham, Clara Lerner, Will, Harrison, Josh (Edie), and Jase (Mashea) Duke, Blaize and Miles Pennington, Ryan Mattox (Jyl) and Madeline Benard; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha McAnulty Padgett; and two brothers, James David and Richard Moorman McAnulty.
In leiu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Bolivar Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
