Finger, TN: Janet Denise Dodge, age 62 passed away October 24, 2021 at her home in Finger.
She was born June 12, 1959 in Jackson, TN, the daughter of the late Jody Franklin and Clara Belle Anderson Kelley. She grew up in Henderson and was a 1978 graduate of Chester County High School.
During her working career she was employed by Tom Lawler’s Office Outfitters, Maytag Corporation, and Southern Oaks Assisted Living.
She married Alan Dodge on September 25, 1998 and they made their home in Finger. She was previously married to Randy Sells and they had two sons, Joe and Brandon.
She enjoyed gardening, yard work, hiking, cooking, traveling and listening to music. She was very outgoing, fun-loving and enjoyed talking to people. She loved her family and they loved her and she will be dearly missed by them.
Mrs. Dodge is survived by her husband Alan of Finger; two sons, Joe Sells and fiancée Briley Miller, Brandon Sells and companion Mary Danley; a granddaughter Sarah Michelle Rhinehart; two sisters Carolyn Young of Lexington and Barbara Bland of Jackson; a brother Michael Kelley and wife Sylvia of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Billy Joe Kelley and two brothers-in-law Billy Young and Chuck Bland.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 28th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Chris Kitchen officiating. Burial will follow in Old Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue Chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 27 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
