Jean Elizabeth Armour Hodge, age 79, of Hornsby, passed from this life on Tuesday afternoon, May 31, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A native of Hardeman County, she lived most all of her life here except for a few years in Texas when she was a child. Mrs. Hodge was a retired aid at Western Mental Health Institute and was united in marriage to Mr. Phillip Hodge in 1972. She was a faithful member of the Hatchie Baptist Church and, in her spare time, enjoyed reading, working word puzzles and playing board and card games. She cherished time spent with her family.
She leaves her husband of 49 years, Phillip Hodge of Hornsby; step-children, Deborah Hodge of Bolivar and Pam Pennington of Adamsville; niece, Laura (David) Burton of Columbus, MS; nephew, Boyd Armour, III , also of Columbus; four grandchildren, Robin Stebbins of Bolivar, Larry and Chris Pennington, both of Jackson and Catherine Morris of Savannah; seven great-grandchildren, Alayia Stebbins of Ridgeland, MS, Sarah Alyse Stebbins of Bolivar, Tristan Pennington of Jackson, Colton Pennington of Twenty-Seven Palms, CA, Levi Pennington of Georgia, Dylan Pritchett of Kansas City, KS and Harley Morris of Savannah; three great-nieces, Hannah, Lauren and Bridgett Otts; two great-nephews, Justin and Jarod Barksdale; four great-great-nieces and nephews, Amara Newman, Karsyn and Brantley Cummings and Hartlynn; and a step-daughter-in-law, Nancy Hodge of Adamsville.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Hanna Armour Sands; a step-son, Barry Hodge; a brother, Boyd Armour, III; and a niece, Amanda Armour Otts.
