Jean Ivy, age 69, of Medon, passed Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born in Hardeman County and lived all of her life in the Teague community, the daughter of the late Albert Brooks, Jr. and Rosetta McCarver Brooks. Mrs. Ivy was the widow of Larry Andrew Ivy who died in 1980. She is also preceded in death by a son, Michael Shane Brooks.
Jean was a member of Big Springs Methodist Church near Medon and enjoyed singing specials there from time to time. She liked to go line-dancing with her sister and have sleep-overs on Fridays with her great-grandson. She also loved going to garage and rummage sales.
Mrs. Ivy was employed as a nurse's aid for 6-7 years at Country View Estates in Toone and, many times on her days off, could be found cleaning homes for others.
She leaves her daughter, Twana Frye (Danny) of Medon; her sister, Shirley (Larry) Owens of Denmark; her brother, Albert Larry (Judy) Brooks of Medon; two grandchildren, Daniel Boyd Frye of Medon and Tiffany Shane Frye of Henderson; and one great-grandchild, Axel Blake Frye of Medon.
