Jean T. Majors was born on January 28, 1920 in Littleville, Alabama, the daughter of the late John Tolliver and Eva Clyde Taylor Teas.
On May 12, 1937, she was united in marriage to Jarvis Burke Majors, who preceded his wife in death on May 20, 1979.
Mrs. Majors worked as a cook for Hardin County School System and owned Savannah Decorating Company & Record Shop for 30 years. She was a member of East End United Methodist Church in Savannah, Tennessee. Jean loved her family, flowers, gardening, cooking, playing cards, working crossword puzzles, watching sports, dancing, and going to yard sales.
Jean T. Majors departed this life on Sunday, July 4, 2021 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 101 years, 5 months, and 6 days.
She is survived by her children, Jeanette Hardin and her husband Joe of Baytown, Texas, Julia Judy Martin of Savannah, Tennessee, Jon Majors and his wife Barbara of Counce, Tennessee, and Jeana Grace of Savannah, Tennessee; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her son, Joel "Buddy" Majors; daughter, Jan Majors Hoover; infant daughter, Mary Janice Majors; brothers, Clyde Teas, James Teas, and John Teas, Jr.; sister, Jackie Teas Clarke; and grandchildren, Matthew Hoover and Vallen Conner.
The Majors family would like to request that masks be worn by anyone attending visitation or funeral services for Mrs. Jean Majors.
