JEANETTE SCARBROUGH
Pinson, TN: Roberta Jeanette Young Scarbrough age 76 passed away May 19, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born March 16, 1943 in Chester County the daughter of the late Guy Frankie and Hazel Mae Plunk Young. She went to school at Pinson and Southside and graduated from Northside High School in 1961. She also graduated from McCallum & Ross Beauty School. She married George Scarbrough in 1963. They had made their home at Pinson since 1966. She had a beauty shop at her home and later at Magic Valley. She worked at Salant & Salant and I Appeal as an Inspector. She had also worked at West Tennessee Beauty supply at Hamilton Hills.
She enjoyed crafts, sewing, and selling things on E Bay. She liked to fish and she was a very generous person.
She was very much involved in Church work, more recently at the Meeting Place in Henderson where George served as Pastor. She and George played and sang weekly at Heritage Towers for over thirty-five years.
Mrs. Scarbrough is survived by her husband, George Louis Scarbrough of Pinson; a son, Kevin Scarbrough (Tonya) of Pinson; a daughter, Sherry Eason (Jeff) of Jackson; a brother, Ronnie Young (Franca) of Humboldt; two sisters, Sue DeNicolais (Eddie) of Hohenwald and Debbie Grimes (David) of Hohenwald; seven grandchildren, Derrick Eason, Drake Eason, Emily Roach, Dakota Scarbrough, D.T. Clark, Hunter Rice and Kristen Rice and two great-grandchildren, Jason Roach and Landon Roach.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Charles Young and Bill Young and a sister, Marilyn Cozart.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Jim Phinney and David Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in Big Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday.
