Jennifer Diane Sledge Bray, 38, of Collinwood, TN, died Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 28, 1979 in Florence, AL to Joseph "Danny" Sledge and Patti Lanier Sandusky who preceded her in death.
Jennifer was a member of Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and worked several years in the dietary department at Wayne County Nursing Home. At her death, she was a deputy clerk for the Wayne County Court Clerk in Waynesboro, TN.
Jennifer was loved by all whoever met her and leaves behind a legacy of selflessness and friendship to so many. She never met a stranger, loved everyone and no one ever had to guess what she was thinking!
She is survived by the love of her life, John Bray and their children, Jenson Scott Bray and Danlee Jayde Bray all of Collinwood, TN; her sister, Jessica and husband, Eddie "Sketti" Columbia of Iron City, TN; her brother, Joseph Daniel Sledge, Jr. (Joey) of Nashville, TN; nephews, Justin Haddock of Florence, AL and Keithen Risner,Talon Columbia and Barrett Bray all of Iron City, TN; her mother-in-law, Mattie Hickerson of Collinwood, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Melissa Bray of Iron City, TN; grandmothers, Jackie Lanier Stockard and Connie Sledge both of Florence, AL; step-father, Danny Sandusky of Collinwood, TN; step-sister, Yolanda Morgan of Thompson Station, TN; step-brother, Kale Sandusky of Collinwood, TN and a special "daughter", Journey Hunt of Collinwood, TN.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by grandfathers, Harlon A. Lanier and Hoyt Sledge and nephew, Brayson Bray.
In lieu of flowers, the Jennifer Bray Memorial Fund has been established at the Wayne County Bank for her children.
Services will be Friday, August 31, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Edward Burbank and Jason Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Friday, August 31, 2018.
Pallbearers will be Stan Horton, J C Daniel, Scotty Daniel, Jamie Brewer, Dustin White and Kale Sandusky.
