Jerry Wayne Matlock was born October 14, 1938 in Hardin County, TN, the son of the late Reeder Columbus Matlock and Floy Lee Jones Matlock. He departed this life on February 8, 2022 in Lexington, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 3 Months, 25 Days. He worked for Goodyear and also later in life at Ripley Industries for many years. He enjoyed watching all his kids play ball, listening to Jimmy Swaggart, Alan Jackson and George Jones. He was known to many as "Pawpaw". Mr. Matlock was united in marriage to Barbara Jane Hunt who survives him; he is also survived by his children: Marty Matlock (Melissa), Gary Matlock (Amelia) and Janet Nixon (Jordan); six grandchildren: Stevie Jordan, Kara Jordan, Ty, Dylan, Caleb and Jake Matlock; three great grandchildren: Averi, Mylo and Connor; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Matlock was preceded in death by his grandson, Jesse Jordan; four sisters: Lovey Dedrick, Oma Jean Ratliff, Lou Jane Essary, Martha Rinks; five brothers: R. C., Carl Joe, E. G., J. D. and Charles Ray Matlock.
