Jessica Vandiver Sharkey

Mrs. Sharkey, the widow of James J. Sharkey, passed from this life on Tuesday morning, May 5, 2020, at Pine Meadows Healthcare in Bolivar. She was the daughter of James Wesley Vandiver and Minnie Inez Morris Vandiver. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorris Marcum and Charline Rindels; and a brother, Donald Vandiver.

Born in Hardeman County, she lived several years in Memphis before returning here around 2008. She and her late husband had lived San Franciso, CA, Jacksonville, FL and Lewisburg, PA. She was a communicant of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Memphis and was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sisters, Barbara Brown Martin (Joseph) of Nashville, Marti Sadlak of Bolivar and Nell Rose Stanfield of Texas; two brothers, Brad Vandiver (Barbara) of Jackson and Larry Vandiver (Merita) of Bolivar; and numerous nieces and nephews.

While visiting or attending services for Mrs. Sharkey, please consider the following guidelines:
* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
