Jimmie Gayle Pickens departed this life on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the age of 74 years and 3 months. She was born in Waynesboro, Tennessee on November 20, 1947, the daughter of the late Clemen and Elsie Mae Franks Durbin. On November 27, 1963, she was united in marriage to Ronald Pickens, who preceded her in death on November 19, 2011.
Jimmie had retired from Aqua Glass after 30 years with the company, and was a member of New Hope Community Church. Jimmie loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed yard work, planting flowers, decorating her home, having breakfast with her many friends at the Crump Cafe, and traveling. Her last trip was in November 2021 where she ziplined across a mountain in Gatlinburg.
Jimmie is survived by her children, Tony Pickens and his wife Tori, and Kim Tallent and her husband Jon, all of Adamsville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Tristan Pickens, Taylor Pickens, and twins Abby Tallent and Carly Tallent; great grandchild, Ezra Pickens; brothers, Donnie Durbin and Ronnie Durbin, both of Savannah, Tennessee; and sister, Carolyn Curtis of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jimmie was preceded in death by brothers, Frank Durbin, James Durbin, and Joe Durbin; and sisters, Nancy Weaver and Reba Vance.
