    Jimmy Dale Hodge

    August 31, 1958 - May 14, 2021

Jimmy Dale Hodge, 62, of Pocahontas, departed this life Friday, May 14, 2021. A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, he was the son of the late James Albert and Ruby Faye Flake Hodge. He was Pentecostal in belief and former welder for Dover Elevators in Middleton. On Thursday, June 29, 1989, he was united in marriage to Charolette Ann Long, who survives. In his leisure time, Mr. Hodge enjoyed working on cars and hot rods, riding motorcycles and horses. He spent many hours listening to the gospel music of Jimmy Swaggart and watching Gunsmoke. A cut-up who loved to "pick" at folks, he loved his family deeply especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 31 years, he leaves one daughter, CeCilia Hodge (James Burnette) of Pocahontas; four sons, Joshua Long (Robin) of Middleton, Jamie Hodge (Amy) of Ramer, Jimmie Hodge of Corinth and Justin Hodge (Falon), also of Corinth; two sisters, Vickie Hodge of Middleton and Barbara Coln (David) of Corinth; two brothers, Lynn Hodge (Sue Nell) and Wayne Hodge, both of Middleton; and twelve grandchildren, Emmanuel, Landen and Oliver Burnette, J. T. and Saria Long, Trey Davis, Jordan, Jayden, Brooklyn and Brayleigh Hodge, Callie Rankin (Clay) and Blaide Hodge. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis. http://www.stjude.org
