Jimmy Joe "JJ" Ervin

Jimmy Joe "JJ" Ervin, 53, of Middleton departed this life Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2020 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The son of Franklin E. Ervin of Middleton and Donna M. Gaither Sparks of Pocahontas, who both survive, he worked in construction with Monroe Willis at Willis Construction for 23 years. He was born February 19, 1967 in Orange County, California and grew up here. Among his interests were family camping, taking road trips, NASCAR and sitting outside hanging with his friends. He was known as a 'jack of all trades' and enjoyed watching YOUTUBE as entertainment. Mr. Ervin was a Baptist in faith.
In addition to his parents, survivors include a daughter, Mikayla A. Ervin of Bethel Springs; a sister, Louwanna M. Blake of Glen, MS: a niece, Juanita Cleek; a nephew, Jacob Cleek; and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Juanita Gaither and Ruby Cooksey Ervin; and grandfathers, Donald Gaither and Ben Ervin. Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
In response to Governor Lee's Executive Order 17 which took effect at 12:01 AM March 23, 2020, there will be no public visitations or services until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.
