JOE AYERS
Jacks Creek: Joe Harold Ayers, age 68 passed away at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born November 6, 1952 in Wayne County and grew up in Henderson, the son of the late Jess and Lois Wright Ayers. He attended schools at Bethel Springs and Finger. He married Pam Pusser on February 9, 1970. They made their home in Chester County. Joe was a self-employed heating and air technician operating his own business, Ayers Heating & Air. He enjoyed his work.
He attended Jacks Creek Apostolic Church.
He loved to watch westerns on TV, particularly John Wayne movies.
Mr. Ayers is survived by a daughter, Tonya Taylor (Don) of Jacks Creek and a son, Chris Ayers of Chattanooga; five grandchildren, Shana Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Shianna Taylor, Amber Taylor and Richard Taylor; three sisters, Nancy Jenkins of Collinwood, Judy Burns and Connie Bailey of Lexington and a brother, Billy Joe Ayers of Pinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pam Pusser Ayers; four sisters, Nadine Ayers, Ann Ayers, Shelby Smith and Virginia Gail Ayers and two brothers, Glenn Ayers and Billy Wayne Ayers.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 20th at Shackelford Funeral Directors- East Main Chapel with Bro. Brent Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in Enville Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at East Main Chapel 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Sunday service time.
