Joey D. Sledd of Michie, TN was born October 13, 1954 in Paducah, KY the son of the late Henry Melvin and Mary Katherine Sutton Sledd. He was a Controller with KeyTronicEMS in Corinth, MS having been with the company for 38 years.
Joey was a graduate of Fairley High School in Memphis and received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Memphis State University, now the University of Memphis. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Selmer. Joey enjoyed serving as a door greeter at church and always had a smile and warm welcome to all who entered. He loved his family immensely and enjoyed the various family activities over the years of riding horses, wagon rides on Sunday afternoon, and boatrides. He enjoyed his work, liked his cats, being outside bushhogging, or just tinkering in his shop. He was an active member of the Tennessee Forestry Association. Most of all, what stands out for Joey was his Christian faith and testimony, a testimony he placed on video which will impact many who see it in the days ahead. Joey departed this life on November 21, 2018 in Corinth, MS at the age of 64 Years, 1 Month, 8 Days.
He is survived by his wife Donna Sledd of Michie, TN; two daughters, Patricia Davis and husband Robert of Ramer, TN, and Devon Joyner and husband Tyler of Selmer, TN; two grandchildren, Joey Davis and Dakota Davis; two brothers, Fred Sledd and wife Janet of Marietta, GA, and Dennis Sledd and wife Tatianna of Evansville, IN; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
