John Wayne Hicks

John Wayne Hicks was born August 8, 1952 in Michigan City, IN the son of the late Huse Venell and Ethel Kelly Hicks.

He was united in marriage to Debra Pipkins on October 18, 1996.

Mr. Hicks loved his family especially his grandchildren, he enjoyed cooking for his family during the holidays and was an excellent cook. He took care of his family and friends, wanted everyone to be happy and was always making others laugh.

Mr. Hicks departed this life on August 23, 2013 in Lexington, Tennessee at the age of 61 Years, 15 Days. He is survived by his wife Debra Hicks of Lexington, TN; three sons, John Shannon Hicks, David Hicks, Steven Hicks; a daughter, Melissa Moon; two stepsons, Anthony and Billy Massie; stepdaughter, Kristie McAdams; two sisters, Dorothy Calvary, Peggy Hicks; a brother, Dan Hicks and wife Wanda; 17 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Bauer; numerous siblings.
