John Ross Gage

John Ross Gage was born October 16, 1943, in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Arthur Lee and Amelia Teague Gage.

He was united in marriage to Evelyn Bishop on July 14, 1962.

John Ross was a hard worker who rarely set idle. He retired after 30 years of service with General Electric where he worked in set-up. He also worked for the City of Bethel Springs Water Department and served as the caretaker for Liberty Cemetery in Bethel Springs. He enjoyed farming and was a member of Forty Forks Baptist Church in Bethel Springs, Tennessee. John Ross loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Gage departed this life on May 2, 2022, in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 6 Months, 16 Days. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn Gage of Bethel Springs, TN; two sons, Greg Gage and wife Penny of Bethel Springs, TN, Michael Gage of Bethel Springs, TN; three grandchildren, Danielle Harben, Ethan Gage and wife Hailey, Whitney Bradley and husband Garrett; four great grandchildren, Ryker and Raegan Harben, Bentlee Bradley, Miles Gage; three sisters, Joann Reynolds of Bethel Springs, TN, Cathy Gage of Red Rock, TX, Jackie Matlock and husband J.D. of Selmer, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gage was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Ray Gage; four sisters, Rebecca Sims, Linda Knight, Mary Nola Moffett, and Shelia Moore.
