John W. "Big John" Lowrance, age 50, of Middleton, departed this life Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
John Wesley Lowrance was born, Tuesday, January 31, 1967, to the late John Thomas Lowrance and Norma Odell Kirk in Ripley, MS. On September 11, 1998, he married Karen Lowrance. A life-long resident of Middleton,he had worked as a roofer, construction worker, in farming and for the City of Middleton.
A long-time member of the the Christ Temple Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, he enjoyed going to church especially homecomings. It was at that time each year, he would shave his beard to honor his mother. He also liked taking long walks in the woods collecting hickory sticks to whittle, sharpening knives, riding 4 wheelers, going to drag races and pool tournaments.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, of Middleton; two children, Bobbie D. Vickers (Brady) of Middleton and Emmanuel Buck Rogers (Mikaela) of Middleton; two sisters, Debra L. Petersen (Timothy) of Vildo and Brenda L. Lowrance of Walnut; one brother, William Smith (Babb) of Pocahontas; step-father, Charles Smith of Middleton; grandson, Thomas Caleb Vickers of Middleton; two nieces, Amy McKee (Barry) of Walnut, MS and Tiffany Wilbanks (Jody) of Falkner, MS; and one nephew, Nathaniel Petersen of Vildo.
