Johnny Dorsey

Mr. Johnny David Dorsey was born September 25, 1945 in Townsend, TN the son of the late Cornell and Maybell Woodby Dorsey. After high school, he honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1963-1965. He drove a truck in Reno, Nevada and California most of his life until his retirement in 2011. He was a Christian first and foremost and a member of the Baptist faith. Mr. Dorsey departed this life on April 21, 2022 in Iron City, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 6 Months, 27 Days.

He is survived by a half-brother, Alvin Hugene Johnson of Johnson City, TN; a nephew Charles Wayne Dorsey and wife Donna of Iron City, TN; a niece Cindy Weldon and husband Chuck of Florida.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dorsey was preceded in death by two sisters, Laverne Baker, Mary Renfroe; a brother, Bobby Dorsey and a brother-in-law Rudy Baker

Visitation will be held on Sunday April 24, 2022 from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Collinwood.

Services will be held on Sunday April 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Collinwood, with Blake Quillen officiating. Burial will follow in the Hollis Cemetery at Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors Assisting the Family.
