Johnson Ray

Johnson Ray was born October 9, 1928 in McNairy County, TN, the son of the late Lafayette Samuel and Lee Ann Johnson Ray. He was united in marriage to Wadene Tull on November 17, 1950. Mrs. Ray preceded him in death on June 3, 2016. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. He served our country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps and also in the TN National Guard. Johnson was an Insurance Agent before retiring, and then later worked for Walmart for several years. He loved fishing and his family.

Mr. Ray departed this life on February 28, 2018 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 4 Months, 19 Days.

He is survived by a son, Robert Stanley Ray and wife Glenda of Selmer, TN; three grandchildren: Christopher Ray of Henderson, TN, Jonathan Ray of Knoxville, TN and Stan Ray and wife Tiffany of Corinth, MS; two great grandchildren, Katey Ray and Jake Tucker.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Ray was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Alan Ray; and 12 siblings.
