Ms. Jordan Nicole Burns, age 21, of Bolivar, Tennessee, went to sleep into eternity Friday afternoon, April 16, 2021, at St Jude Children Hospital.
She was born in Jackson, Tennessee, on July 29, 1999. She was a 2017 graduate of Bolivar Central High School. While attending Bolivar Central High School, she was a cheerleader for four years and a member of various clubs. She was also a senior at the University of Memphis, majoring in biology. She had aspirations of becoming a Physician Assistant in Endocrinology. She loved reading, poetry, painting, participating in community service, human rights activist, enjoyed spending time with family and friends. To know her was to love her. She had a kindred spirit with a smile that could light up a room. She made everyone feel special and loved. She was highly competitive, pushing herself to finish in the top 10 of her high school graduating class. Her determination also allowed her to continue her college courses online while battling cancer. She enjoyed creating memories with her siblings and took pride in taking care of them. She enjoyed creating different types of food and was an exceptional baker. Jordan had a strong faith in God and studied the Bible fervently.
Survivors include her mother, Carrie Burns (fiancé, Gerald Taylor) of Bolivar; her father, Joshua Burns, Jr. of Bells; two sisters, Presley Walker of Bolivar and Makaih Burns of Jackson; three brothers, Taylor Burns and Jackson Walker, both of Bolivar and Astin Burns of Jackson; her maternal grandmother, Charlotte Dyer of Bolivar; paternal grandparents, Joshua Burns, Sr. and Christine Burns of Cedar Grove; aunts and uncles, Amy Dyer of Jackson, Regina & Tony Cook, Michael Dyer and Terry & Kristen Dyer, all of Bolivar, Rayford & An’Janae Burns of Memphis; and immediate cousins, Jacob Dyer, Sam Cook, Bryleigh & Baylee Dyer, Rayven Wang, Rayford Burns, Jr., Morgan and Rayzon Burns, Skyler and Sophia Hanson. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Terry Dyer; uncle, Chad Burns; and great grandparents, Earnest & Juanita Dyer, Edna Peterson, Leroy & Lula Jordan and Jessie & Gracie Burns.
