Josephine Schrock Gibson

Josephine Schrock Gibson, 75, of Toone, Tennessee passed peacefully on August 17, 2021 at her home. She was born May 16, 1946 in Aberdeen, Mississippi to Abraham and Lydia Schrock. She married Steven William Gibson, of Toone, Tennessee on May 4, 1969 in Memphis, TN. They lived in Memphis until moving back to the Toone area in 1975, where they continued to raise their family and enjoy 52 years of marriage. Josephine worked briefly at Western State Mental Health Institute and later served as a bus driver for Hardeman County Schools. Her time was mostly dedicated to the work of raising her four children and assisting with her grandchildren. Josephine was an avid gardener, enjoyed painting, reading the Bible, and playing games with her family. One of her favorite pastimes was playing pinochle with family and their long-time neighbor, Mr. Glenn.

In addition to her husband, Josephine is survived by her daughter Lydia Goodrum (Justin), and sons Steven Gibson (Crystal), Eric Gibson (Jenny) and Aaron Gibson (Ashley), all of Toone, TN. She is also survived by her step-mother, Mary Schrock, and 11 brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and 9 brothers and sisters. Obviously, she came from a large family which provided for many wonderful relationships and memories. Although she will be greatly missed, we know that she is only sleeping until the Messiah returns and she is resurrected to see her Lord.
