Judy Grooms

Judy Grooms was born in Benton, Kentucky on November 10, 1944, the daughter of the late Joseph and Edna Anna Austin Johnson. On December 5, 1975, she was united in marriage to Bobby Ray Grooms, who survives. Judy departed this life on January 7, 2018, at the age of 73 years, 1 month, and 28 days.

Judy was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and working with people. She worked for Dr. Richard S. Greene as an office manager from 1984 to 2017.

In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by her son, Dennis Kelly and fiance Konda Winters of Scotts Hill, Tennessee; daughter, Karla Bunney and husband David of Humboldt, Tennessee; sisters, Francis Bevis and husband Thomas of Memphis, Tennessee, Jane Worley and husband Billy Clyde of Savannah, Tennessee; brother, Gary Johnson and wife Leigh Ann of Selmer, Tennessee; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her daughter, Daphane Grooms Simpson, and great grandchild, Breelin Blankenship.
