JULIA EDGAR
Lexington, TN: Julia Mae Connor Edgar age 78 passed away February 20, 2019 at Henderson County Community Hospital.
She was born September 15, 1940 in Chester County, the daughter of the late James Brodie and Oda Lois Hopper Connor. She attended Pine Springs School. She married Charles Edgar on November 10, 1957 they have been married sixty-one years. She worked as a seamstress and supervisor at Decaturville Sportswear and then Robinson Manufacturing. She retired from Robinson Manufacturing in 1988 where she was serving as plant manager. She co-owned, Sew & Sale Cloth Shop in Lexington.
She was a member of the Stone Hill Pentecostal Church. She had served as a Sunday School Teacher and had been very active in church activities. She loved going to the Smokey Mountains, feeding her family and raising flowers.
Mrs. Edgar is survived by her husband, Charles Franklin Edgar of Lexington; a son, Benny Edgar (Tina) of Lexington; a daughter, Sherry Stone (Tony) of Lexington; three grandchildren, Shannon Stone (Gala), Brandon Stone, Lisa Pearcy (Dylan) and three step grandchildren, Brad Milner , Josh Milner and Robin Broadway; seven great grandchildren and a sister, Kay Connor Burkhead of Lexington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, James Junior Connor, Wallace Allen Connor and Jerry Wayne Hopper.
Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Saturday at Stone Hill Pentecostal Church with Clifford Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday and beginning at 1:30 PM Saturday at the Stone Hill Pentecostal Church.
