Katherine Tillman Borders passed from this life Friday, September 26, 2014 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The daughter of Johnny and Lorene Harbin Tillman, she was born, January 19, 1937 in Hardeman County where she was a lifelong resident. She was married to Ruby Lee Borders who died in October 1989 and worked as a nurses aid. A member of the church of Christ, she enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Debra Elaine Janes and husband Donnie Joe of Walnut, MS, and Mary Ruth Barnes of Bolivar; 3 sons, Johnny Lynn Howell and Timothy Borders both of Bolivar and James Homer Barnes and his wife Lee Ann of Sanger, TX; 3 sisters, Elizabeth Matthews and Magdalene Sisco both of Humboldt, and Carol Ann Tillman of Bolivar; a brother Grady Lee Tillman of Bolivar; 8 grandchildren, Katherine Marie Barnes, Karen Nicole Barnes and husband Phillip, Jessie Howell, Timothy (T. J.) Borders, Jr. and wife Kia, Laura Barnes, Jamie Elizabeth Barnes, Tyler Lee Borders and Allyson Borders; and by 3 great grandchildren, Chloe Nicole & Zoe Marie Jones, and Addison Gay. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Jimmy Neal Howell; 2 brothers, Richard and Johnny Tillman, and a grandchild, Christopher Bryan Barnes.
