Kathy Jean Swinford

January 6, 1957 — August 3, 2020

Kathy Jean Swinford passed away Monday evening, August 3, 2020, at Magnolia Regional Center in Corinth, MS.

She was born in Bolivar and lived most all of her life in Hardeman County except for a short time in Walnut, MS. Her parents were the late Ruble and Bernice Pittman Sisco. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Bobby Sisco and her step-father, Luther Bumpus.

On August 8, 1987, she married W. L. Swinford of Saulsbury, who survives. Mrs. Swinford had been a cook at the Junction Inn in Grand Junction, TN and at Early's Restaurant in Falkner, MS. Most recently, she was a homemaker and, in her leisure time, enjoyed fishing, four wheelers, gardening and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband of almost 33 years, she leaves her daughter, Rebecca (Robert) Watkins of Walnut; her son, James (Shannon) Wilbanks, also of Walnut; her sister, Deb (Mike) Surrat of Middleton; two brothers, Wayne (Carla) Sisco of Selmer and Ronnie (Sally) Sisco of Saulsbury; four step-daughters, Janice (Larry) Taylor of Savannah, Teresa (Scott) Irwin of Falkner, Debbie (Robert) Earnest of Pocahontas and Cindy (Aubrey) Hodge of Middleton; one step-son, Randy Swinford of Middleton; five grandchildren, Rachel (Dylan) Watkins of Ramer, Riley Watkins, Maddie, Kinley and Ashtyn Wilbanks, all of Walnut; and numerous nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.

When attending visitation or services for Mrs. Swinford, please consider the following guidelines:

* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
