Kenneth East

Kenneth Edward East, 72, was born in Trumann, Arkansas on October 15, 1945. He passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 after 5 years battling cancer.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Judy East of 51 years; his enthusiastic only daughter, Christy Stokes; he was "Pop" to three grandchildren that he adored, Caylyn Pitt (Max), Chelsea Dunehew (Scott) and Zach Stokes. He also had 3 1/2 great grandchildren, Jaxon Nichols, Stella Stokes, Kenneth Sherman and "Baby" Pitt, whose gender was only revealed to Pop. This was the only secret he ever kept. He also leaves behind his mother, Dorothy East and 2 sisters, Mary Miller (Bob) and Deborah Dolan.

Kenneth retired after 25 years from the Memphis Police Department as Inspector over all of the Bureaus. He loved his job solving mysteries. Amongst his many honors was a show featuring him discussing a crime he investigated.

He stayed very busy with the rental properties he and Judy owned for 45 years. You could always see him coming in his loaded down work truck with every part/tool imaginable.

There was nothing he loved more than spending time with his family making memories. He made time every week for "Monday Night Dinners" with his family, even if they had to take place on a Wednesday. He spent the last few months helping renovate the lake house from his chair directing the work with his walking sticks. He enjoyed antiquing trips with the love of his life. He was a lover of many collectibles, his clocks and antique finds bringing him much joy. But, his greatest joy was his family.
