Ladonna Michele Roland was born January 3, 1964 in Memphis, TN.
She was united in marriage to Scott Roland on February 16, 2002.
At birth, Ladonna was small, 6 pounds 7 ounces to be exact. She had always been petite but Ladonna's size never matched the size of her heart. Her heart knew no boundaries - Ladonna loved to love people. She was blessed with the chance to know and love each friend that crossed her path. Once you met her you loved her, knew her love for Jesus, family, friends and her "babies" at BSES. Her smile was contagious, her words were kind and encouraging, and her friendship was a blessing.
Ladonna taught and loved her "babies" for over 20 years. She started as an aide at McNairy Central High School and found her home at Bethel Springs Elementary School teaching special education. According to most special education programs to be a good SPED teacher you must possess the following: patience, organization skills, creativity, acceptance, and calming nature. Ladonna went above and beyond these qualities, she loved her "babies." She was awarded Teacher of the Year for 2016-2017 in McNairy County.
Ladonna was a member of First Baptist Church in Selmer. When she wasn't teaching or worshiping the Lord, she enjoyed gardening, decorating her home, going to the beach and taking care of her loved ones.
Ladonna departed this life on March 7, 2020 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 56 Years, 2 Months, 4 Days. She is survived by her husband Scott Roland of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Hannah Settlemires and husband Deven; a stepson, Jesse Roland; brother, Kelly Perkins; a sister, Candice Wilcoxson; father-in-law, Curtis Roland; two brothers-in-law, Jeff Roland and wife Cindy, Tim Roland and wife Karen; cousins, Rex and Jan Davis; best friend, Becky Holcombe; and a host of extended family, church family and friends.
