LAURABEL FISHER
Laurabel Elizabeth Oborne Nash Fisher, 95 years 6 months of Pinson, TN died peacefully on May 27, 2020 after a brief illness, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born November 4, 1924 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH and grew up in Northern, Idaho in Coeur-de Alene, the daughter of the late Samuel Avery and Laurala Kathleen Osborne Oborne. She married Wilford Tacker Nash in 1943. She later married James Eli Fisher in 1972 both husbands preceded her. She was primarily a homemaker but also worked as a seamstress at Salant & Salant in Henderson, a waitress and as a florist. She was a member of the First Christian Liberty Church in Henderson, health challenges prevented her from regular attendance, but she loved the Lord and was of great faith. She loved to watch cartoons and wheel of Fortune and enjoyed crocheting.
Mrs. Fisher is survived by a son, Timothy Nash (Pam) of Jackson; two daughters, Rose Singleton of Pinson, TN; Anna Traxtle (Monte) of Spokane Valley, OR; two stepsons, Bruce Fisher (Donna) of Salem, OR and Rand Fisher of Atlanta, GA; two stepdaughters Becky Fisher of Eugene, OR and Pat Preim of Salem, OR; 25 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Gayle Nash of Pinson.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, Larry D. Nash, Sr., David Leslie Nash, a stepson, Nick Fisher; a daughter, Kitty Oborne; three brothers, Clinton, Leslie and Vauchel Oborne; a sister, Hazel Bentley and a son-in-law Leon Singleton.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital or Carl Perkins Center for prevention of child abuse.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors- Crook Avenue Chapel with a visitation prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.
