Lavell Maness Burross departed this life on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 8 days. She was born in Henderson County, Tennessee on December 12, 1934, the daughter of the late Herman B. and Erna Thompson Maness.

Lavell was a member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. She was a substitute teacher at Morris Chapel Elementary and for 25 years Lavell worked with the headstart program at Southwest Human Services. She enjoyed gardening, square dancing, and going to church.

Lavell is survived by her sons, Dave Burross and his wife Karen of Stantonville, Tennessee, and Gary Burross of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Tamara Grisanti Burross, Brooke Bingham Burross, and Brandi Latina Gilbert; great grandchildren, Hallie Oakley and Macee Gilbert; sisters, her twin Lavergne McMullin and her husband John, and Georgia Franks, all of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, Lavell was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin Maness.
