Laverne E. Doyle, age 80, of Silerton, passed away Tuesday morning, April 5, 2022 at his home.
A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, Mr. Doyle was the son of the late Elie Matthew Doyle and Mary Oma Mildred McGarrh Doyle. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael W. Doyle in November, 2018; a brother, Wayne Doyle; and two sisters, Naomi Hannis and Helen Wilbanks.
He married the former Mary Frances King in Ripley, MS on November 12, 1960 and was a self-employed truck driver for 42 years. He was a member of the Bolivar Church of Christ and formerly had been member of Theo Church of Christ in Alcorn Co. MS and New Hope Church of Christ. In his leisure time, he enjoyed working on anything mechanical and general "piddling" around the house. He also operated his own private sawmill and especially favored time spent with his grandchildren.
He leaves his wife of nearly 62 years, Mary Frances Doyle of Silerton; his daughter, Sherrie Shelby (Lee) of Jackson; his two sons, Timothy E. Doyle (Glenda) of Whiteville and Steven Doyle (Andreia) of Toone; a sister, Annie Ruth Riggs (Tommy) of Middleton; and a brother, Jerry Doyle (Dana), also of Middleton; 10 grandchildren, Kenny Doyle (Stacie), William Matthew Doyle, Amanda Harris (Matt), Kandy Doyle, Lauren DeBerry (Dominque Forbis), Zach DeBerry, LeAnna Moore (Jonathan), Gracie, Sophie and Spencer Doyle; and a host of great-grandchildren.
