Lee Dorris, 47, of Jackson, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at his home in Jackson.
The son of the late Carlis Gene Dorris and Mary Frances Stanfield Dorris, who survives, he worked as a roofer. He was born June 30, 1970 in Bolivar and had lived in Jackson for about 30 years. He was described by his family as being extremely funny, loving to joke around with everyone. He enjoyed music, playing the drums, self taught on the guitar and piano and writing numerous songs himself. He was a Church of God in belief.
Survivors include his fiance/caregiver and love of his life, Becky Katherine of Jackson; his mother, Frances Dorris of Jackson; two sisters, Joy Maynard (Kirby) and Brittany Wood (Jeff), all of Jackson; a brother, Tony Dorris of Byhalia, MS; 3 nieces, Amanda, Amber and Alyssa; 2 great nephews, Levi and Raiden; his aunt, Brenda Johnson of Jackson and numerous cousins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rev. Lacey Dorris and Annie Lee Dorris; and his maternal grandparents, Ruby Floyd Stanfield and Jack Stanfield.
