Lee Paulk Horton, Sr.

November 2, 1937 — November 24, 2020

Lee Paulk Horton departed this life on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at the age of 83 years and 22 days. He was born in Savannah, Tennessee on November 2, 1937, the son of the late John Henry Horton and Dovie Louise Bailey Horton. On June 6, 1958, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Ruth Dunn, who preceded him in death on November 12, 2017.

Lee had worked overseas on the oil field pipelines. After retiring, he lived in Savannah, Tennessee and enjoyed being Papaw to his granddaughter and great granddaughters. He was a caring son, the best brother, a wonderful husband, and a loving father. But first and most important, Lee, who was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, loved serving the Lord and encouraging others to serve. He was loved by all his nieces and nephews; there are many who live all over the United States.

Lee loved fishing and hunting with his brothers and other family members. He also enjoyed cooking and gardening and enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labors with others.

Lee is survived by his son, Lee Paulk Horton, Jr. and his wife Ada C. of Gulf Breeze, Florida; granddaughter, Harmonie Lee Horton of Savannah, Tennessee; great granddaughters, Journie Lee Seaton and Mackenzie Louise Seaton, both of Savannah, Tennessee; brothers, Charles W. Horton, David Horton and his wife Yvonne, all of Savannah, Tennessee, and Jerry W. Horton and his wife Debbie of Stantonville, Tennessee; sisters, Johnnie R. Allen and her husband Glenn of Savannah, Tennessee, Pat Martin of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Jeannette Alexander of Savannah, Tennessee; and his very special friend, Cathy Little of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Lee was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Ann Horton and a sister, Maxine Oatsville Newman.
