Leland Larry Carpenter

Leland Larry Carpenter was born April 14, 1945 in Town Creek, AL the son of the late Lelon and Glenice Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter was a Autobody worker at Carpenter's Body Shop, was a member of the Bevis Church of Christ, and enjoyed tinkering on lawnmowers and small engines. Mr. Carpenter departed this life on September 8, 2021 in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 76 years, 4 months, and 25 days.

He is survived by his wife Wanda Carpenter of Lutts, TN; a son, Ronnie Carpenter and wife Sherry of Birmingham, AL; two sisters, Rita White and husband Ricky of Florence, AL, Sherlene Keil of Madison, AL; five grandchildren, Bo Smith, Andy Smith, Zack Smith, Jana Risner and husband Wes, BJ Carpenter and wife Kailey; five great-grandchildren, Braysen Carpenter, Carley Jo Carpenter, Bryce Risner, Seth Risner, and Maddie Grace Risner, Special nieces and nephews, Jenny, Gracy, Hannah, Wayne, Harley, Alli, Saban, Ashley, Bentley, Grady, and Heather, Mother-in-law, Mary Evelyn Copeland, two brother-in-laws, Jerry Copeland and Larry Copeland and wife Sherry, and sister-in-law, Lisa Holt and husband Keith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Grisham; and two brothers, Cecil Carpenter, Donald Carpenter.

Visistation will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN. Burial will follow in the Murphy's Chapel Cemetery at Florence, AL with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
