Lendon Hughes

June 6, 1934 — November 21, 2017

Lendon Hughes was born June 6, 1934 in Hardin County, TN the son of the late Lincoln and Estelle Daniel Hughes.

Mr. Hughes was a member of the First Baptist Church in Adamsville. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and was widely known as one of the best commercial fisherman on the Tennessee River. He enjoyed truck patching and being around his family. Mr. Hughes also loved sports. He was enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and was a huge Tennessee Vols football fan. Mr. Hughes honorably served his country in the United States Army.

On June 29, 1956, he was united in marriage to Betty Sue McCormick.

Mr. Hughes departed this life on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at his residence in Adamsville.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, Betty Sue Hughes of Adamsville, Mr. Hughes is survived by a son, Ted Hughes and wife Cindy of Adamsville,TN; two grandchildren, Daniel Hughes and wife Erika also of Adamsville, TN, Fahren Choate and husband Brandon of Michie, TN; four great grandchildren, Linkoln Hughes, Anniston Choate, Lawsyn Hughes, and Maddux Choate.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by a sister, Nell Roten.
