Medon, TN: Charles Leon Holmes age 71 passed away November 5, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital,
He was born May 17, 1947 in Chester County, the Laurel Hill Community, the son of the late Charles Elvie and Gladys Alene Roland Holmes. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1965. He worked a few months at Brown Shoe Company and had worked at Western State Mental Hospital in Bolivar as a Supervisor. He enjoyed golf and hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan, particularly U.T. Football.
Mr. Holmes is survived by two brothers, Harold Newman Hurst of Henderson and Roy Travis Hurst of Mary Ester, FL and a sister, Shirley Jean Burkeens of Jackson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Dennis Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in Little Hatchie Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday.
