Leonard Wayne Bittle

was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on July 1, 1945 the son of the late Leonard Howard and Blanche Edwards Bittle.

On August 31, 1973 he was united in marriage to Kathy Maxine Wooten, who preceded her husband in death on February 15, 2009. On September 18, 2009 he was united in marriage to Cathy Diane Franks, who survives.

Leonard served his country proudly in the United States Army. He graduated Nazarene Bible College and was a minister of Nazarene denomination for 30 years. On November 1, 2005, Leonard became the minister of Savannah Church of the Nazarene. In his spare time he loved to draw, drive in the country and Shiloh, play harmonica, watch John Wayne movies, and read his Bible.

Leonard departed this life on Saturday, December 18, 2021 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 17 days.

In addition to his wife of 12 years, Cathy of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by his children, Leaveny Dawn Smithson and her husband Josh of Ratcliff, Arkansas, Lyndy Monroe Cavender and his wife Carrie of Omaha, Nebraska, and Billy Jonathan Bittle and his wife Allissa of Windsor, Kentucky; step-daughter, Lori Seale of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee; step-sons, Bryan Simmons of Iron City, Tennessee, and Trent Simmons of Byhalia, Mississippi; grandchildren, Savanna Schaffer, Garrett Schaffer, Cade Schaffer, Timothy Smithson, Jessa Smithson, Avery Cavender, and Mattie Bittle; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth Simmons, Chris Simmons, Tristen Simmons, Sydney Simmons, Tallen Simmons, Phoebe Simmons, Tyrel Simmons, Callen Seale, Selah Seale, Sayer Simmons, Asher Simmons, Titus Simmons, and Eden Simmons; and brother, Hubert Bittle of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Blanche Bittle, his first wife, Kathy Maxine Wooten Bittle, sister, Pat Boyd, and brother, Tony Bittle.
