Lola Mae Melson Janis was born on May 14, 1936 in Enville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Charlie and Leatril Harwell McClain.
On May 26, 1990, she was united in marriage to Paul Eugene Janis, who preceded his wife in death on March 28, 2020.
Prior to moving to Savannah, Tennessee, Lola lived in Poplar Grove, Illinois for 40 years. She worked as a cabinet maker at Admiral in Harvard, Illinois. She was a member of Harvard Assembly of God in Harvard, Illinois and was a member of the Women's Group and Prayer Group there. She loved God with all of her heart and knew His power. Mrs. Janis also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and reading.
Lola Mae Melson Janis departed this life on May 1, 2021 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 17 days.
She is survived by her daughters, Robbie Tylene Pitts and her husband John Wayne of Huntsville, Alabama and Sherry M. Timm and her husband Phillip of Poplar Grove, Illinois; grandchildren, Rebecca Gray and her husband Chase, Jared Pitts and his wife Brandi, Amythest Pitts, Ethan Timm, Jacob Timm and his wife Emma, and Sarah Timm; and great grandchildren, Lilith Pitts, Abigail Pitts, Annabelle Aric, Noah Pitts, Juniper Timm, Lucy Timm, and Brody Timm.
In addition to her parents and second husband, Paul Janis, Lola was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Robert Melson, and her son, Melvin Melson.
