Lonzo Harvey Melson

Lonzo Harvey Melson, Waynesboro was born April 23, 1935 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late John R. and Lina Bell Moser Melson. Mr. Melson departed this life on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 4 Months. He was united in marriage to Lillie Melissa Murphy on August 11, 1956. He was retired from Junior Keeton Sawmill as a lumber stacker and was of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by son, James H. Melson, wife Pam, daughter, Judy Holt ,husband Stanley, son in law, Ernie Moon all of Waynesboro, TN., grandchildren, Jason Holt, Tyler Burns, Lisa Melson, Shania Melson, Jessie Melson, Brook Moon, Breanna Moon, Jamie Burns, Alana Burns, great grandchildren, Tristin Holt, Maci Melson, Rylan O'dell, Jacob and Hunter Burns, Carson and Bailey Burns, Markell Burns, and Makhya Burlson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Melson was preceded in death by daughters, Melissa Walker and Rita Moon, grandson, Brad Burns, brother, Willie Moser and a sister, Alma Sherrills.

Services were held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with David Murphy officiating. Burial followed in Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Kyle Bates, Jessie Boyd, Matt O'dell, Ernie Moon, Bill Griggs, and Donnie Sharp.
