LORETTA CAVE
Henderson, TN: Iva Loretta Efaw Cave, age 83 passed away November 6, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born November 29, 1935 in Farmington, West Virginia and grew up in Mannington, the daughter of the late Dee Woodrow and Zana Roselee Watson Efaw. She graduated High School in Mannington and attended Freed Hardeman College. She worked for Northwest Airlines in Washington, DC.
She was married to Richard L. Cave in 1966. They lived in Knoxville, Oklahoma City, and Bel Horizonte, Brazil. They moved to Henderson in 1976. She worked in the Department of Psychology for seven years and then as Accounts Payable Clerk in the Business Office. She worked as Administrative Assistant to the Department of Science and Mathematics, from where she retired in 1998.
She taught English Bible classed in Vienna, Austria in the summers. They continued to do mission work abroad after their retirement.
She was a Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School Teacher at Henderson Church of Christ.
Mrs. Cave is survived by her husband, Richard Lester Cave of Henderson; two sons, Richard Alyn Cave of Knoxville and Daniel Lester Cave (Tiffanie) of Louisville, TN and a daughter, Carolyn Noel Cave Barnett (Charles) of Arlington, TN; four grandchildren, Kaitlin and Madeline Barnett, Isaac and Joseph Cave; two brothers, Harold Efaw of Farmington, WV, Randy Efaw of Mannington, WV and a sister, Karen Martinie of Mannington, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Donald and Woodrow Efaw.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Henderson Church of Christ with Ben Flatt and Roy Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, Nov. 11 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Richard L. Cave Scholarship Fund at Freed-Hardeman University.
